The South Australian Government is committed to reducing the costs of doing business so that South Australian businesses are nationally and internationally competitive.

Following the South Australian Government's review of assistance programs the Industry Assistance Framework has been established to support economic growth. Financial assistance to private sector entities will be delivered through three new designated funds. Industry assistance will be targeted and focused on opportunities that provide strategic development benefit to the state, including in South Australia's regions. The Regional Growth Fund is operating and details about eligibility and access to the Economic and Business Growth Fund and the Research, Commercialisation and Start-up Fund will be available soon.

The Economic and Business Growth Fund

To support industry and business growth in South Australia through attraction and expansion support for initiatives that will introduce significant new technologies, capabilities, capacities and expertise in industries that align to the state’s competitive advantages and provide industry sector support where required.

The Research, Commercialisation and Start-Up Fund

To support South Australian businesses to collaborate with researchers and universities to solve industrial problems, commercialise new products and services, attract research infrastructure investment into the state and encourage the establishment and growth of start-ups.

Chief Entrepreneur Jim Whalley has been appointed to promote entrepreneurship, engage with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, build a start-up community and raise the profile of South Australia as the place to start and grow a successful business.
